Hey guys,

I just downloaded iringer and whenever I try and import a song it comes up with
'The selected media file could not be converted to an acceptable format. Please select another file'

I have tried a few different songs, all mp3's and it keeps coming up.
Any idea what im doing wrong?

Strange...are you downloading the files before you try to import them, or are they already on your pc or what?

Sorry for the delayed response. :)

Make sure that iRinger is on your desktop. Right click on the icon and choose "run as administrator".

iRinger will not import any media files that exist on my computer. I have run the application from a folder and from my desktop. I am using WinXP Pro SP3, 4gb RAM and am not seeing any resource issues. I have tried running this as a Domain account as well as the local Administrator. I have tried opening .mp3, .wav and .ma4 files unsuccessfully. Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem with my daughters computer... but everything works fine on mine. I have even copied songs she has downloaded on her computer and was able to make the ringtone on my computer. Since she is running WinXP and I am running Windows Vista.... I am thinking that is mostly likely the problem.

i'm having the same problem but not w/ all of the songs in my PC. it just won't convert the japanese songs. but with the english songs, it's ok. - The selected media file could not be converted to an acceptable format. Please select another file - that's what it was saying when importing the jap songs.

I resolved all my import issues by changing the Data Execution Prevention Settings:

Open - Control Panel >> Click - System and Maintenance >> Click - System >> Click - Advanced system settings >> Click Tab - Advanced >> Click - Settings... (in performance section) >> Click Tab - Data Execution Prevention >> Click Radio Button - Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select >> Click button- Add

You now need to browse to the iringer .exe >> Click - Save

Ringtone creation software for the iphone - now appears in the box below the radio button clicked previously.

Click button - OK

Close all open windows and restart iringer. It will now import files... well, it did for me!!

For reference, Im running Windows Vista Ultimate, all patches up to date as at 21 June 2009. Good Luck all. Iringer is a fantastic bit of software and I implore you all to donate - even a little.

Cheers
Steve
