WM Recorder 14.1 includes a few new features, INCLUDING Real Time Preview of the recorded files which allows you to record bbc shows longer than 1 hour.
If you don't have the real time preview feature that WMR 14.1 brings to the table, you cannot record shows that require reconnection. All FLV (flash) on demand shows longer than 1 hour require reconnection. Sometimes FLV shows need reconnection even before 1 hour (BBC radio shows for example).
To be able to reconnect you need to know the exact play time of the file where the connection was interrupted then make a reconnect request to start receiving data from this time. Flash RTMP recorders that I know about extract the FLV when the entire download is finished and consequently they cannot reconnect.
There is more to the real time preview. Watch Applian's Marketing director' Leslie's demonstration of BBC 2 hour radio show recorded in about 4 minutes
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udnAbZiBlMk ) and how you can use this real preview. WMR is the
only recorder that can do this.
The real time preview however has a drawback - in some cases it loads up the CPU (just as the Adobe Flash player). If you have a number of shows
downloaded simultaneously at max connection speed (10 for example) it is better to disable the real time preview which could generate downloading
errors in this case. These errors cannot be handled by the converter. If you have complains about conversion problems of FLV files recorded with WM
Recorder ask the user to disable the real time preview.
